The symbolism of the jewel and the virtues of the stone in lithotherapy

The jewel's name is inspired by the Polynesian island Bora Bora.

In Tahitian, Tiki means "man-god." For Polynesians, it is believed to possess supernatural powers. It is a good luck charm, a protective symbol against evil spirits and life's uncertainties, but also an honorary symbol and a link to ancestors.
The Tikis offered by MOONSTRA represent strength and invincibility or wisdom. They bring happiness, prosperity, help in living with past events, and in facing those of the present and future.

Gold plating is a process steeped in history. This gilding technique has been used worldwide since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, it now conveys elegance.

Onyx stone is rich in history, legends, and symbolism. It has been widely used since ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian times. It is found mainly in Brazil, Colorado, and Utah in the United States, Madagascar, Uruguay, Mexico, and India.

Today, in lithotherapy, this stone strengthens self-esteem and self-confidence. It allows one to control and stabilize emotions and character to face life's uncertainties. It helps heal painful events and past traumas.
It is associated with the Root Chakras.

Lithotherapy is a pseudoscientific practice of unconventional medicine based on the belief in a power that certain stones are thought to possess, which, through their vibrations and energies, could help improve psychic and physical well-being or even cure diseases. However, there is no scientific proof of these benefits. The practice of lithotherapy and the use of stones should therefore not replace medical advice.

In lithotherapy, stones purify and recharge their energies naturally when in contact with earth, water, or moonlight or sunlight.
Removed from their environment, they lose their positive energies and must be purified and recharged.

Thus, you can purify them by rinsing them or immersing them for a few minutes in clear or demineralized water, by placing them in a Tibetan singing bowl that you will make sing and vibrate, or by burning a sage stick or incense and exposing them to the fumes.

To recharge them, expose them overnight to moonlight, preferably a full moon. You can also expose them to the sun, but avoid too long an exposure (less than an hour) as the sun's rays can, in time, dull some stones. Therefore, prefer sunrise or sunset when the radiation is gentle.
You can also bury them on a full moon, leaving them underground for an entire lunar cycle or for several months, or arrange them for several hours or days on a cluster of Quartz.

Choosing your size

Before ordering your necklace, check the size that suits you.

The choice of necklace size depends on your neck size, your body shape, your silhouette, and how you want to wear it over clothing.
The chain should not be too tight to avoid injury, discomfort, and lack of elegance.

Measure your neck circumference with a flexible measuring tape, or if you don't have one, use a thread or strip of paper and then measure its length with a ruler.

The chain sizes in the MOONSTRA store range from 37 to 60 cm. These sizes do not include the length of the pendants that make up the necklaces. Therefore, remember to add the pendant length to get an idea of the complete length of the jewel on you.

In general, but this depends on silhouettes and body types, chain sizes (without pendant) fall as follows:

  • 40cm: the chain falls at the base of the neck.
  • 45cm: the chain falls at the collarbone.
  • 50cm: the chain falls below the collarbone.
  • 55cm: the chain falls at the upper part of the chest.
  • 60cm: the chain falls lower on the chest.

The following photo illustrates the chain sizes sold in the MOONSTRA store on a mannequin.

It is advisable to measure a well-fitting necklace you wear regularly, consisting of its chain and a pendant similar to the one you are interested in from the MOONSTRA store, to help you choose the size of the new one you wish to order.

Usage and care tips

To preserve the jewelry from premature aging and maintain its shine, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:

  • exposing it to fresh, salt, or chlorinated water. Remove the jewelry before showering or swimming.
  • exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewelry before going to the beach.
  • exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewelry.
  • exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewelry before doing housework or DIY.
  • exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewelry before any intense physical activity.
  • keeping it on for sleeping and manual activities.

To clean and polish the jewelry, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water combined with a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water, and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
