The symbolism of the jewel and the virtues of the stone in lithotherapy
The name of the jewel is inspired by the Amazonite stone that makes up the earrings and the Amazon River where it was first discovered, although history reveals that it was used much earlier in antiquity in Egypt, Mesopotamia and Sudan. It was later worked by Native Americans for whom it was strongly linked to divinities and chosen for the ornamentation of jewels or even armor and weapons to bring courage and strength during battles.
Amazonite stone comes mainly from Brazil, Colorado, India, Russia and South Africa.
Gold plating is a process steeped in history. This gilding technique has been used worldwide since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, it is today a bearer of elegance.
Today, in lithotherapy, this stone is known to bring mental serenity and happiness, as well as to improve romantic and friendly relationships through altruism and wisdom. It is associated with the "Heart" and "Throat" Chakras.
Lithotherapy is a pseudoscientific practice of unconventional medicine based on the belief in a power that certain stones would have, which, through their vibrations and energies, would help improve psychic and physical well-being and even cure diseases. However, there is no scientific proof of these benefits. The practice of lithotherapy and the use of stones should therefore not replace medical advice.
In lithotherapy, stones purify and recharge their energies alone in their natural state when they are in contact with the earth, water or the light of the moon or sun.
Out of their environment, they lose their positive energies and must be purified and recharged.
Thus, you can purify them by rinsing them or immersing them for a few minutes in clear or demineralized water, by placing them in a Tibetan bowl that you will make sing and vibrate, or by burning a sage stick or incense and exposing them to the fumes.
To recharge them, expose them all night to moonlight, preferably full moon. You can also expose them to the sun but avoid too long an exposure (less than an hour) because the sun's rays can, in time, tarnish certain stones. So prefer sunrise or sunset when the radiation is soft.
You can also bury them at the full moon, leaving them underground for a whole lunar cycle or for several months, or arrange them for several hours or several days on a Quartz cluster.
Choosing your size
Before ordering your earrings (studs, posts, chips, hoops, dangles, etc.), check the size that suits you.
The size depends on the morphology of your ears, the position of your piercings and the outfit you want to wear.
An earring should not be too tight to avoid injury, discomfort and lack of elegance. It should be able to move slightly.
It is therefore advisable to measure well-fitting earrings that you wear regularly to help you choose the size of the new ones you wish to order.
Usage and maintenance tips
To preserve the jewel from premature aging and maintain its shine, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:
- exposing it to fresh, salt or chlorinated water. Remove the jewel before showering or swimming.
- exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewel before going to the beach.
- exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewel.
- exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewel before doing housework or DIY.
- exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewel before any intense physical activity.
- keeping it on for sleeping and manual activities.
To clean and polish the jewel, MOONSTRA advises you to rub it gently with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water and a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
