The symbolism of the jewel and the virtues of the stone in lithotherapy

The name of the jewel is inspired by the Latin and Arabic given name "Lora" which means "compassion". Here it symbolizes softness and appeasement.

Gold plating is a process steeped in history. This gilding technique has been used throughout the world since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, today it conveys elegance.

The stones here are synthetic and made of resin. Being artificial, they have no virtues in lithotherapy or particular meaning, but they give the image of a blossoming necklace, ready to bloom with pretty, vibrant flowers. The necklace thus brings a lot of well-being to wear due to the elegance they exude.

While the stones have no specific meaning, in chromatography, their white color symbolizes gaiety, appeasement, freshness, purity, and innocence. It is associated with the seventh chakra or crown chakra.

Black, on the other hand, symbolizes elegance, refinement, luxury, and wealth. It inspires simplicity and mystery. It is associated with the first chakra or root chakra.

Lithotherapy is a pseudoscientific practice of unconventional medicine based on the belief in a power that certain stones would possess, which, through their vibrations and energies, would help improve psychic and physical well-being or even cure illnesses. However, there is no scientific evidence of these benefits. The practice of lithotherapy and the use of stones should therefore not replace medical advice.

Choosing your size

Before ordering your necklace, check the size that suits you.

The choice of necklace size depends on your neck size, your morphology, your silhouette, and how you wish to wear it over clothing.
The chain should not be too tight to avoid injury, discomfort, and lack of elegance.

Measure the circumference of your neck using a flexible tape measure, or if you don't have one, use a thread or strip of paper and then measure its length with a ruler.

MOONSTRA store chain sizes range from 37 to 60 cm. These sizes do not take into account the length of the pendants that make up the necklaces. Therefore, remember to add the length of the pendant to get an idea of the full length of the jewel on you.

In general, but this depends on silhouettes and morphologies, chain sizes (without pendant) fall as follows:

  • 40 cm: the chain falls at the base of the neck.
  • 45 cm: the chain falls at the collarbone.
  • 50 cm: the chain falls below the collarbone.
  • 55 cm: the chain falls at the top of the chest.
  • 60 cm: the chain falls lower on the chest.

The following photo illustrates on a mannequin the chain sizes sold in the MOONSTRA store.

It is advisable to measure a well-fitting necklace you regularly wear, consisting of its chain and a pendant similar to one you are interested in from the MOONSTRA store, to help you choose the size of the new one you wish to order.

Use and care tips

To preserve the jewel from premature aging and maintain its sparkle, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:

  • exposing it to fresh, salt, or chlorinated water. Remove the jewel before showering or swimming.
  • exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewel before going to the beach.
  • exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewel.
  • exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewel before doing housework or DIY.
  • exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewel before any intense physical activity.
  • keeping it on for sleeping and manual activities.

To clean and shine the jewel, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water and a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
