The symbolism of the jewelry and the virtues of the stone in lithotherapy
The name of the jewelry is inspired by the goddess Calypso, a sea nymph in Greek mythology who seduced and held Odysseus near her and promised him immortality and eternal youth if he stayed to live with her.
The spiral motif is universal. It represents the cycle of life, expansion, evolution, rebirth, and eternity. It also symbolizes energy and personal development.
Gold plating is a process steeped in history. This gilding technique has been used worldwide since antiquity. Formerly a sign of wealth and power, today it conveys elegance.
Zirconium oxide is a synthetic stone, not to be confused with zircon, which is a natural stone. Its hardness and brilliance are similar to those of diamond but at a lower cost.
Being an artificial stone, zirconium oxide has no virtues in lithotherapy, but by adorning a piece of jewelry, it brings a lot of well-being and confidence to wear due to the brilliance and elegance it exudes.
Lithotherapy is a pseudoscientific practice of unconventional medicine based on the belief in a power that certain stones would have, which, through their vibrations and energies, would help improve psychic and physical well-being and even cure diseases. However, there is no scientific proof of these benefits. The practice of lithotherapy and the use of stones should therefore not replace medical advice.
Choosing your size
Before ordering your necklace, check the size that suits you.
The choice of necklace size depends on your neck size, your body shape, your silhouette, and how you wish to wear it over clothing.
The chain should not be too tight to avoid injury, discomfort, and lack of elegance.
Measure the circumference of your neck using a flexible tape measure, or if you don't have one, use a string or a strip of paper and then measure its length with a ruler.
The chain sizes in the MOONSTRA store range from 37 to 60 cm. These sizes do not take into account the length of the pendants that make up the necklaces. So remember to add the length of the pendant to get an idea of the full length of the jewelry on you.
In general, but this depends on silhouettes and body types, chain sizes (without pendant) fall as follows:
- 40 cm: the chain falls at the base of the neck.
- 45 cm: the chain falls at the collarbone.
- 50 cm: the chain falls below the collarbone.
- 55 cm: the chain falls at the upper part of the chest.
- 60 cm: the chain falls lower on the chest.
The following photo illustrates the chain sizes sold in the MOONSTRA store on a mannequin.

It is advisable to measure a well-fitting necklace that you wear regularly, consisting of its chain and a pendant similar to the one you are interested in from the MOONSTRA store, to help you choose the size of the new one you wish to order.
Usage and care tips
To prevent premature aging of the jewelry and maintain its shine, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:
- exposing it to fresh, salt, or chlorinated water. Remove the jewelry before showering or swimming.
- exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewelry before going to the beach.
- exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other cosmetic products. Wait until the products are absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewelry.
- exposing it to oxidizing agents. Remove the jewelry before doing household chores or DIY.
- exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewelry before any intense physical activity.
- keeping it on for sleeping and manual activities.
To clean and polish the jewelry, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water combined with a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water, and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
