The symbolism of the jewel

The name of the jewel is inspired by the Scandinavian given name "Tyra", which means "strength".

The bangle bracelet is a jewel steeped in history. It is worn across different continents and by many cultures and civilizations. The oldest traces come from India and Pakistan and date back almost 5000 years. It is also found in Viking, Native American, Greek, and Roman cultures. In the past, it was used to indicate social rank depending on its material and was often synonymous with wealth. Paradoxically, it was also worn by slaves when they did not have their chains to indicate that they already had an owner and were not free. Today, the bangle has become a very trendy and essential fashion accessory. It is a symbol of freedom.

Gold plating is a process steeped in history. This gilding technique has been used around the world since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, it now conveys elegance.

Choosing your size

Before ordering your bracelet, check the size that suits you.
The size depends on the morphology of your wrist and how you want to wear it.
Measure the circumference of your wrist with a flexible tape measure, or if you don't have one, use a thread or a strip of paper and then measure its length with a ruler.
Generally, the bracelet size is 1 to 2 cm larger than the wrist circumference. It all depends on how you want to wear it, loose or tighter.
A bracelet should not be too tight or too loose to avoid injury, discomfort, or lack of elegance.
It is advisable to measure a well-fitting bracelet that you wear regularly to help you choose the size of the new one you wish to order.

Care and maintenance tips

To preserve the jewelry from premature aging and maintain its shine, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:

  • exposing it to fresh, salt, or chlorinated water. Remove the jewelry before showering or swimming.
  • exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewelry before going to the beach.
  • exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewelry.
  • exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewelry before doing housework or DIY.
  • exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewelry before any intense physical activity.
  • keeping it on while sleeping or doing manual activities.

To clean and shine the jewelry, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water and a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
