The symbolism of the jewel and the virtues of the stone in lithotherapy
The name of the jewel is inspired by the goddess Calypso, a sea nymph in Greek mythology who seduced and held Odysseus close to her, promising him immortality and eternal youth if he stayed to live with her.
The spiral motif is universal. It represents the cycle of life, expansion, evolution, rebirth, and eternity. It also symbolizes energy and personal development.
Gold plating is a process rich in history. This gilding technique has been used worldwide since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, it now conveys elegance.
Zirconium oxide is a synthetic stone, not to be confused with zircon, which is a natural stone. Its hardness and brilliance are similar to those of diamond but at a lower cost.
Being an artificial stone, zirconium oxide has no virtues in lithotherapy, but by adorning a jewel, it brings a lot of well-being and confidence to wear it due to the brilliance and elegance it exudes.
Lithotherapy is a pseudoscientific practice of unconventional medicine based on the belief in a power that certain stones possess, which through their vibrations and energies, are believed to help improve psychological and physical well-being, or even cure diseases. However, there is no scientific proof of these benefits. The practice of lithotherapy and the use of stones should therefore not replace medical advice.
Choosing your size
Before ordering your earrings (studs, posts, hoops, dangles…), check the size that suits you.
The size depends on the morphology of your ears, the position of your piercings, and the outfit you wish to wear.
An earring should not be too tight to avoid injury, discomfort, and lack of elegance. It should be able to move slightly.
It is therefore advisable to measure well-fitting earrings you wear regularly to help you choose the size of new ones you wish to order.
Usage and care tips
To preserve the jewel from premature aging and maintain its brilliance, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:
- exposing it to fresh, salt, or chlorinated water. Remove the jewel before showering or swimming.
- exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewel before going to the beach.
- exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewel.
- exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewel before doing housework or DIY.
- exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewel before any intense physical activity.
- keeping it on for sleeping and for manual activities.
To clean and polish the jewel, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water mixed with a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water, and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
