Symbolism of the jewel
The name of the jewel is inspired by the Latin given name "Marina" which means "of the sea".
The marine link here symbolizes freedom, escape, a desire for adventure and the unknown.
Gold plating is a process steeped in history. This gilding technique has been used worldwide since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, it now conveys elegance.
Choosing your size
Before ordering a ring, check the size that suits you.
To do this, if you don't have a ring sizer, you can measure the circumference of its placement on your finger with a string or paper strip, then measure its length with a ruler.
Generally, the ring size corresponds to the average of the size of the finger joint and its placement on the finger. For example, if the finger circumference at the ring's location is 51mm and the joint's circumference is 53mm, the average, 52mm, will correspond to a ring size of 52.
Keep in mind that every body shape is different, that it doesn't always follow this rule, and that finger size can change quickly with cold and heat.
You can use the following table for assistance:
| Circumference in mm | Diameter in mm |
| 52 | 16.5 |
| 54 | 17.2 |
| 56 | 17.8 |
| 58 | 18.4 |
A ring should not be too tight to avoid injury risks, nor too loose to avoid loss risks.
It is therefore advisable to measure a well-fitting ring that you wear regularly to help you choose the size of your new ring.
Care and usage tips
To preserve the jewel from premature aging and maintain its shine, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:
- exposing it to fresh, salt, or chlorinated water. Remove the jewel before showering or swimming.
- exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewel before going to the beach.
- exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewel.
- exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewel before doing housework or DIY tasks.
- exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewel before any intense physical activity.
- keeping it on for sleeping or manual activities.
To clean and polish the jewel, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water and a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
