The symbolism of the jewel and the virtues of the stone in lithotherapy
The jewel's name is inspired by the name "Maya", which is a derivative of the Hebrew Mar-Yam. It means "drop of the sea" and symbolizes purity and nobility.
The ring adorned with a cubic zirconia represents eternal love.
Gold plating is a process rich in history. This gilding technique has been used worldwide since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, it now conveys elegance.
Cubic zirconia is a synthetic stone, not to be confused with zircon, which is a natural stone. Its hardness and brilliance are similar to those of diamond but at a lower cost.
Being an artificial stone, cubic zirconia has no lithotherapy virtues, but by adorning a piece of jewelry, it brings a lot of well-being and confidence to wear due to the brilliance and elegance it radiates.
Lithotherapy is a pseudoscientific practice of unconventional medicine based on the belief in a power that certain stones would have, which, through their vibrations and energies, would help improve psychological and physical well-being, or even cure diseases. However, there is no scientific evidence of these benefits. The practice of lithotherapy and the use of stones should therefore not replace medical advice.
Choosing your size
Before ordering a ring, check the size that suits you.
To do this, if you don't have a ring sizer, you can measure the circumference of its placement on your finger with a thread or a strip of paper, then measure its length with a ruler.
Generally, the ring size corresponds to the average of the size of the finger joint and its placement on the finger. For example, if the finger circumference at the ring's placement is 51mm and the joint circumference is 53mm, the average of 52mm will correspond to a ring size of 52.
Keep in mind that each morphology is different, that it does not always follow this rule, and that finger size can change quickly with cold and heat.
You can use the following table for assistance:
| Circumference in mm | Diameter in mm |
| 52 | 16.5 |
| 54 | 17.2 |
| 56 | 17.8 |
| 58 | 18.4 |
A ring should not be too tight to avoid the risk of injury, nor too loose to avoid the risk of loss.
It is therefore advisable to measure a well-fitting ring that you wear regularly to help you choose the size of your new ring.
Usage and care tips
To protect the jewel from premature aging and maintain its shine, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:
- exposing it to fresh, salt or chlorinated water. Remove the jewel before showering or swimming.
- exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewel before going to the beach.
- exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewel.
- exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewel before doing household chores or DIY.
- exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewel before any intense physical activity.
- keeping it on for sleeping and for manual activities.
To clean and shine the jewel, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water combined with a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water, and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
