  • A second QR code to scan, linking to the MOONSTRA online store and its associated Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages.

The symbolism of the jewel

The name of the jewel is inspired by the Basque name "Alaia" which means "happiness and joy".

Gold plating is a process steeped in history. This gilding technique has been used worldwide since antiquity. Once a sign of wealth and power, it is now a symbol of elegance.

The five intertwined links here represent the five phases of the life cycle: birth, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, old age, and death.
They symbolize protection and guidance in self-development in the face of past, present, and future life challenges.

Choosing your size

Before ordering a ring, check the size that suits you.

To do this, if you do not have a ring sizer, you can measure the circumference of its placement on your finger with a string or a strip of paper, then measure its length with a ruler.

Generally, the ring size corresponds to the average of the size of the finger joint and its placement on the finger. For example, if the finger circumference at the ring's placement is 51mm and the joint circumference is 53mm, the average, which is 52mm, will correspond to a ring size of 52.

Remember that each body shape is different, that it does not always conform to this rule, and that finger size can change quickly with cold and heat.

You can use the following table for assistance:

Circumference in mm Diameter in mm
52 16.5
54 17.2
56 17.8
58 18.4

A ring should not be too tight to avoid the risk of injury, nor too loose to avoid the risk of loss.
It is therefore advisable to measure a well-fitting ring that you wear regularly to help you choose the size of your new ring.

Use and care tips

To preserve the jewel from premature aging and maintain its shine, MOONSTRA advises you to avoid:

  • exposing it to fresh, salt, or chlorinated water. Remove the jewel before showering or swimming.
  • exposing it to sand and salt. Remove the jewel before going to the beach.
  • exposing it directly to perfumes, deodorants, creams, and other cosmetic products. Wait for the products to be absorbed by the skin before putting on the jewel.
  • exposing it to oxidizing products. Remove the jewel before doing housework or DIY.
  • exposing it to heavy perspiration. Remove the jewel before any intense physical activity.
  • keeping it on for sleeping and for manual activities.

To clean and polish the jewel, MOONSTRA advises you to gently rub it with a soft-bristled brush moistened with water and a mild shampoo or Marseille soap, then rinse it with clear water and finally dry it with a soft cloth.
